Failed septic systems can be a significant threat to water quality. To help homeowners properly maintain their septic systems, the PREP offers a variety of outreach materials, including a maintenance folder and an informational video. To receive copies of all septic system educational materials, email a request to Contact.PREP@unh.edu.

The NH Department of Environmental Services recommends that septic systems are inspected yearly, pumped out every three years, and kept free of harmful products. For more information, see the links below.
