The Piscataqua Region Estuaries Partnership (PREP) requests proposals for projects through its annual Local Grants Program. Selected projects will result in achievement or significant progress toward achievement of one or more Action Plans described in the PREP Management Plan. (Proposal Submission Requirements .pdf or MS Word).

PREP has funding available in 2009 to assist with transaction costs associated with high priority permanent land protection projects within the New Hampshire coastal watershed area. Applications from nonprofit 501(c)(3) conservation organizations or government entities are currently being accepted for up to $4,000 per project. To view grant program details, download an application form (.pdf or MS Word).
The Community Technical Assistance Program (CTAP) provides consulting assistance to communities on a wide range of regulatory and non-regulatory approaches to natural resources protection. Through this program PREP hires Technical Assistance Providers (“TAPs”) to work with communities directly on eligible projects of mutual interest to the community and PREP. TAPs are organizations and firms with expertise in natural resource protection issues and activities. The program is intended to be simple for communities to participate; PREP pays for the assistance, develops work scopes to meet communities’ needs, and manages the contract agreements with TAPs for projects to support towns’ natural resource protection objectives.
Community applications can be submitted to PREP from March 2, 2009 through November 30, 2009, or as funds remain. Applications will be evaluated as they are received, and projects will be developed with available funding. Communities are encouraged to submit applications early in the year and should confirm that funds remain prior to submitting an application. Funding will support approximately 8-10 community projects in 2009. Funding for the 2009 program is from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation – Piscataqua Region and from the US Environmental Protection Agency National Estuary Program, through an agreement with the University of New Hampshire.
