Wakefield Land Conservation Education & Outreach Project

The Town of Wakefield, a participant in the 2005 Natural Resources Outreach Coalition program, received an implementation grant from the NHEP to support land conservation efforts. The Wakefield Land Conservation Group conducted a survey of voters to better understand opinions of using public funds for land conservation, after a very close town vote. The Land Conservation Group used information from the survey to guide subsequent education and outreach efforts that included contacting land owners and producing and distributing a brochure. Request for Qualifications for Technical Assistance Providers RFQ for Technical Assistance Providers

The NHEP is seeking Technical Assistance Providers to work with communities on a wide range of regulatory and non-regulatory approaches to natural resources protection through its Community Technical Assistance Program (CTAP) that was initiated in 2005. The program funds Technical Assistance Providers (“TAPs”) to work with communities on projects related to land conservation planning, stormwater management, and buffer and wetlands protection. The NHEP will select TAPs through this Request for Qualifications (RFQ). Interested organizations and firms with experience working with New Hampshire communities on natural resource protection projects should respond to this RFQ.

TAPs previously selected for CTAP in 2005 must reapply to this RFQ. Responses are due January 9, 2008.

DOWNLOAD RFQ
Under a separate process, the NHEP will request applications from planning boards and conservation commissions interested in receiving assistance through Round 3 of CTAP in 2008.

NOTE: The NHEP’s Community Technical Assistance Program is a separate program from the NH Department of Transportation’s Community Technical Assistance Program, which provides technical assistance to 26 communities affected by the I-93 expansion project.
